Leah Claxton
I am a math tutor for students from Kindergarten through Algebra I. I have a heart for children and would love to help your child be successful in math.  I graduated from Texas A&M Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Education and an emphasis in Math  and have been teaching 6th grade math for two years. I am patient, friendly, and understanding in my approach to teaching. My focus is on building the foundation needed to acquire higher level math skills. My hope is that your child will develop a greater love of mathematics, both for its beauty and its power to help solve everyday problems.
About Me!
I grew up in the Spring/Woodlands area and began college at age sixteen. I attended Texas A&M University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Education and an Emphasis in Math. I was married in 2013 and began teaching as a 6th grade math teacher at Wilkerson Intermediate in Conroe ISD. Through my years of teaching, I have learned that differential learning is imperative because every child has a specific learning style. I enjoy using manipulatives and technology, because I find that they are very beneficial in helping students to grasp concepts and in making math come to life.
Available in the Woodlands area for sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I also offer tutoring for home-schooled students during the school day. As an experienced public school teacher, I know what is expected from each grade level and have attended multiple math trainings to acquire the very best way to teach math concepts using manipulatives and technology to enhance learning.
